Social Security Disability Insurance

SSDI is an abbreviation of Social Security Disability Insurance. This federal insurance program is funded by FICA. A major advantage of SSDI is that when you qualify for SSDI, you automatically become eligible for the various Medicare benefits for 24 months. If you suffer from terminal illness, then also are eligible for SSDI.

There is a major chunk of people who waste unnecessary time in applying for SSDI and hence lose on the various benefits of this program. Thus, you should avoid doing this. SSDI benefits include regular monthly income, a possible extension on any COBRA benefits and dependent benefits etc.
