It is very likely that when you are about to buy a home then you might hear the terms modular homes, manufactured homes and site built homes. It is important to realize the difference between each of these types, not only because it affects the home’s price and its resale value but it even determines whether or not it can be built.
Here I will only describe that what is a manufactured home.
- Manufactured homes are built in a factory.
- Earlier they were recognized as mobile homes or trailers, but with added style options.
- They conform to Federal Guidelines and safety standards, also known as HUD code.
- They are built on a non-removable steel chassis.
- Multi-part manufactured homes are joined at their destination.
- Manufactured home is generally less expensive than site built and modular homes.
- Manufactured homes have lesser resale value.
