Mozilla has released first beta version of Firefox 4 today, and this version has a fresh look, latest features, and support for more HTML5 specifications.
The major changes can be observed in interface. In this version, the new-and-improved Firefox skin is only complete for the Windows release, so Mac and Linux users, you’ll have to wait a bit.

. Tabs are on top now by default. (only for windows)
OSX and Linux will be changing when the theme has been modified to support the change.
Note : If you don’t like tabs on top, you can disable them by right-clicking empty space on the toolbar chrome and unchecking Tabs on Top.

. For Windows Vista and Windows 7 the menu bar has been replaced with the firefox button.
Note : You can get your menu bar back by right clicking empty space on the toolbar chrome and making sure Menu Bar is checked.

. Inclusion of Smart Location Bar.
You can search for and switch to already open tabs in the Smart Location Bar.

. For windows, Mac and Linux, the stop and reload buttons have been merged into a single button.

. The Bookmark toolbar has been replaced by Bookmark button by default.
Note : you can switch it back if you’d like.

. Crash protection for Windows, Linux, and Mac.

. Native support for the HD HTML5 WebM video format.

. Responsive page rendering using lazy frame construction.

. The new add-ons manager, which loads in a tab of its own instead of a separate window.

. A new page loading progress indicator.

Having Fun with Math in Preschool
A new report from the National Research Council to Congress urges parents and teachers to help preschoolers learn more math. In preschools today, math is too often ignored. “It’s fair to say the attention is almost entirely on reading and literacy, without recognizing the importance of math,” said Christopher T. Cross, who co-edited the report and chaired the committee that produced it. Children entering kindergarten need to be “ready” in math as well as reading, and research — and my experience watching my own preschoolers — shows that preschoolers are as curious and interested in numbers and counting and measuring as they are with everything else.

Math learning games important at any age

Does this mean worksheets and flash cards? Of course not. Creative parents and pre-K teachers can easily incorporate math into the play activities they are already doing. Preschoolers can count how many rocks they collect, measure their feet, compare the size of two leaves, and discuss whether ladybugs are shaped more like circles or ovals. Sounds like fun to me!

Rather than talking about Social Bookmarking/Social Media sites or writing another article of telling you which one is better. I thought to present a case study.

February 11, 2009 I posted a link from my blog Even The Babies Know [Dont Miss The Last Picture] on Reddit, Digg and Stumbleupon. Keep in mind that this post didn’t hit the Front page on both Reddit and Digg.

As you can see I got total 95,720 PageViews and 85,462 Unique Visitors. In which 64,209 pageviews are from StumbleUpon alone. Reddit gave me 10,980 pageviews and it gets 10,190 pageviews from direct traffic. To my surprise Digg is not even in competition to reddit and stumbleupon.

Another thing I noticed is that when I submitted my post on Digg, StumbleUpon and Reddit, there was a spike in traffic but after two or three days, traffic was almost dead from Reddit and Digg. However, I am still getting traffic from Stumbleupon. Recently on April 7, 2009 I got 3,285 pageviews from StumbleUpon for that particular post.
